Android stops tracking in the background
Some Android phones (Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei and others) close apps in the background to save battery, and that can stop tracking.
Before race day:
- Settings → Apps → Cheerlify → Battery → Unrestricted (or "No restrictions" / "Don't optimise"; the name depends on the phone).
- Don't swipe Cheerlify away from recent apps during the race.
- Allow notifications: the "Cheerlify is tracking your race" notification is what keeps tracking alive. Without it tracking still runs, but you won't see it.
Do a short test run with the screen locked and check that your distance kept counting.
If the phone sends nothing for 6 minutes, we send you a notification. Open Cheerlify and it continues where it left off.
