How much battery does tracking use?

Cheerlify uses high (not maximum) GPS accuracy and sends positions in batches to let the phone's radio sleep.

• iPhone: a position every ~5 m; with the screen locked, uploads about every minute.
• Android: a position every 4 seconds.
• Battery level is read once a minute and shown to followers (you can hide it).

Tips:

• Start the race with a full charge. The app warns below 30%.
• Lock the screen: the screen is the biggest battery user.
• Turn on Battery saver for long races.
• Cold weather drains batteries faster; keep the phone close to your body.

After the finish, tracking keeps listening for about 5 minutes for late cheers.
